Sleeping and the faux-hawk

Asleep in Mommy's arms after a trip to town.

Here is another picture where I think Wyatt REALLY looks like Derek - he even has that "get the camera out of my face" look of his Dad's!
Wyatt caught a nap in the Boppy pillow this day, he looks really comfy!
A different angle, here he looks a lot like Grandpa Tom!
Wyatt ends up asleep in some funny positions and he looks so sweet! Wyatt after a bath, this is the first picture I have of what looks like a smile (or gas!)
After his bath I tried to style his hair, here I tried a "faux-hawk", sort of a fake mohawk.
"Faux-hawk" from the front - I even gelled it a little.

Booker and Dixie

Derek and I realized that with our new baby in the house, our first 'children' seem to feel neglected. So, we have been trying to play with them more and give them the attention they deserve. Booker T. Washington (the tiger stripe) and Dixie Lee (black) are two barn cats we brought home from his parents' house 4 years ago. They are very good cats and have adjusted quite well to Wyatt. They do try to sneak their way onto our laps when we are holding Wyatt though. Here are some older pics of them (at our old house in Savannah)...

Booker and Dixie are very friendly in the winter when they keep each other warm.

Springtime brings out the fiestier side of Booker and Dixie; here they are in the back yard play-fighting. The grass was in dire need of mowing and you could barely see them when they laid down. Booker does resemble a racoon when he is a puffed out.

Dixie's favorite spot to sleep was on the back of the chair at our old house; she is also quite a ham when the camera comes out.

Booker is a boy cat and definately favors Derek, here they are watching a little TV. Usually Booker likes laying on Derek's lap and rubbing Derek's face with his own (maybe it is the facial hair!)

Of course, Dixie is my baby (a female cat). Here we are waiting for our guests to arrive for our New Year's Eve party (4th annual).

At our new house (the "farm house"), Booker and Dixie like to lay on the washer and dryer by the back door. They are surrounded by windows and are there to greet us when we come home!

I missed it, but Dixie was laying flat on her back rigth before I took this picture. I guess she thought this was a better pose.

Where's Booker? I have a TON of yard work to do at our new house, but being pregnant didn't help (or this 100 degree weather!) But Booker loves to hide in all of the vegetation. He even got his first mole already. I can't wait until he runs across 'Blackie' the snake who lives in the shed!

Our first 'family' vacation

We went on our first 'family' vacation this past week to Tipton. Derek and Lindy went to the State Fair and golfing while Grandma Jeanne watched Wyatt - they got along VERY well.
Ready to go! Wyatt is dressed up in his traveling clothes.

Maverick (Grandma and Grandpa Edwards' black poodle) gives Wyatt a sniff, he is very interested in Wyatt but jealous when Wyatt occupies a lap Maverick wants to be in.

Grandpa Tom and Wyatt hang out in the kitchen.

Wyatt and Grandma Jeanne get ready for a bath - but Wyatt wants to eat first (imagine that!)

We went to visit our friends the Kuekers in Marshall. Here is Wyatt with his new friends Bailey, she really liked Wyatt. She liked to touch his feet and hands and hair. Thanks Matt and Amber for the awesome dinner!

Wyatt is one month old!

Here are some pictures of Wyatt's first month. He is a big boy, weighing over 11 lbs. already!

Wyatt is sleeping in his crib - he is about 2 weeks old here.

One of his first baths, he doesn't really know what to think about them, note the confused look on his face.

Look at that fuzzy hair!

Wyatt loves his swing, but he always ends up in some weird position.

Sleeping on the floor at Grandma Terri's house.

Wyatt's Baptism

Wyatt was baptised on July 29th at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. He performed very well and didn't cry once during the service!

Mom and Dad are very proud of their little man.

Wyatt's Sponsors, Aunt Keri and Uncle Jon.

Grandma and Grandpa Edwards really think Wyatt is special.

Grandma and Grandpa Holt with Great-Grandma Vesta.

Can you believe the Grandpas actually attended church? They really clean up well, don't they!
