Small update - FFA Week

Whew! I always excited for FFA week and glad to see it get over! I hardly have any pictures because I was so busy last week with FFA week. Here is a picture of Wyatt that shows how we BOTH felt on Friday night. I had to be at the ballgame because one of my former students was being recognized for getting his American Degree and it was Senior night. My friends Jenita and Bill took great care of Wyatt while I was running around - he was so pooped!

I got Wyatt's pictures taken again a couple weeks ago. Here is one of the better ones. He did not want to smile for the camera! Okay, I though I would include some FFA pictures. Since I spend so much time at school and with these students - they were my original "kids" - they deserve a spot on this blog! Below is our bowling trip, we had fun on our day off school.
My student Bridget and I are doing "Dance Revolution", we accidentally hit the medium level and it was really hard!
FFA Member cook-out. We cooked burgers and 'dogs on the new FFA grill and had lunch in the shop. The kids sayed it was thier favorite part of the week! Since it was so cold, we tried to cook inside with the exhaust fan on, but it genereated too much smoke and I though the smoke alarm would go off up the hallway. Thankfully it didn't!

7 months old

Wyatt is now officially closer to a year of age than birth - this was a comment made by Derek on Monday, Wyatt's 7 month birthday! The weather is cold and snowy in NW Missouri and so we spend a lot of time in the house watching college basketball. Wyatt is eating three meals a day of baby food and is a little pig! His 6 month check up was last week (I know, we are behind), he weighed 21 lbs. and is 28 3/4 inches long!

Guess who has a fang! I caught these pictures of Wyatt laughing hard and it showed his fang tooth off really well!
Whew, laughing takes it out of a guy. Wyatt is so funny now, he grins and laughs and laughs at stuff - mainly the cats.
Wyatt and Dixie - he LOVES the cats! He will catch a glimpse of them walking through the room and he busts out a big grin and giggles. They mostly ignore him but sometimes they want a little attention. In this picture, Dixie decided she wanted to snuggle up with him and he was "petting" her - or grabbing her fur. She doesn't mind too much.
Well, this little action did send her running off. Wyatt is going to have to learn quick what gentle means.
Another picture of Wyatt laughing and smiling away!

Derek's cattle are calving right now and we have had a calf in the basement to warm up a couple times. I came home yesterday and Derek was taking it back out to its mother - so I ran and got my camera. Here is Wyatt with Derek and the baby calf (not currently named). If it was to become a bottle calf, then I might name it.

Wyatt's first bull ride! Even if it is on a bull calf :)

Aunt Keri's birthday

Derek's sister Keri turned 30 this weekend! We had dinner at their parent's house on Monday and watched the MU-KU game.
Grandpa Bill loves to care for Wyatt, and Wyatt loves the attention!
Keri's present from Grandma Vesta were these embroidered cloths that Vesta did back in the 40's. They are very pretty and elaborate!
Wyatt has gotten really good at holding his own bottle or cup. I finally caught him in the act!

Super Bowl

We went to our Friend Cory and Allison Schweizer's house for the Super Bowl. They have made this sort of a tradition (like our New Year's Eve party) and I managed to take some pictures this year. They have a new baby, Cole, who is one month old. We think he is adorable and him and Wyatt will be great buddies!
Wyatt and his friend Cole Schweizer, our friend (actually Derek's cousin) Megan Baumann is holding Wyatt and Lindy is holding Cole - look at all his blonde hair!
Wyatt loved all the attention he got at Cory and Allison Schweizer's Super Bowl party. He thought Megan and Allison were so funny!
Here is Greg Baumann training Wyatt to appreciate the University of Missouri, but not to chew on his hat.
Can you see he teeth?! His third came in last week, but it was an upper incisor tooth, not a middle tooth. I am calling him "snaggletooth" now.

Brrr, this has been a cool and hard winter. Living on the farm has been convenient for Derek to be able to check calving cows and bring them in the barn. It was so cold a couple nights, we had a calf in the basement to warm it up. It survived and is doing good now. Here is a picture of Wyatt in his winter coat - the ears are soooo cute!
