9 months old!

Wyatt's first nine months have flown by (a lot faster than his 9 months in-utero.) He can stay standing if you place him by something he can hold on to. He tries really hard to pull himself up in his crib and in the tub. Derek's Mom and Derek both have witnessed him pulling himself all the way up - but I haven't.
Wyatt makes this funny face to get us laughing at him. This picture is the best one I have of all 5 of Wyatt's teeth, 3 on top and 2 on bottom. You have to look really close! :)

Derek already lowered his mattress so that he can't fall out if he does pull himself up to standing. He thinks it is great fun and rattles the crib railing.

We love bath time!

Wyatt was playing in his crib last weekend (it was about nap time) and he fell asleep like this. He did not get his limberness from his Mom.

I came home one day early this week and saw this bunny hopping around the yard. It is not albino but a domestic bunny (like the kind you buy at Orscheln's) that one of the neighbors set loose. I guess she had too many and set several loose and one has migrated across Hwy 71 to our house. If you look closely behind the gate, you can see the eye-glow of Booker the cat. He now routinely goes outside for some mousing fun. I think he thought he was going to drag home a rabbit this day, but that bunny is about as big as Booker! Booker stalked it for a while, and then got hungry and came inside.

random pictures...

I have been busy with FFA contests and stuff these past two weeks and Derek has been watching a lot of college basketball. So, I haven't taken many pictures. Still waiting for the weather to warm up and dry up.
Wyatt and I took a little walk out to the mailbox and down the road a bit one day when is was warm (but WINDY!) I tried to get the view westward from our mailbox - very nice!

I bought some Mr. Bubble for bath time and I think Derek and I enjoy it more than Wyatt. We usually put it on his head and face.

More bubbles!

The Hibdon's

Some good friends of mine back in Tipton just had their first child - and are doing their own blog too! Leslie and Joey welcomed Cooper into the world earlier this month. Laura has started their blog while they are busy being parents. I look forward to seeing all their great pictures!

Easter in T-town

Happy Easter! We went to Tipton this weekend to hang out with Ma and Pa Edwards. I wasn't very diligent about getting pictures with everyone we got to see. Wyatt finally got to meet Sarah and Laura Uptergrove and Judy and Steve Oppermann. Shame on me for not recording our fun on film! Sarah and Laura and I have been friends FOREVER (back in our baby days) and went to Nana's together. Hi guys!
Trying to get a good Easter picture at Mom's with Wyatt and his new bunny from Grandma. Wyatt is enjoying his new mobility as his crawling has improved.
Awww, how cute! I hope he doesn't get revenge on me when he is older for all of these funny pictures I take of him. We have to take all these pictures inside because it was cold out again!
Easter basket from Grandma Terri. There were a couple really neat books and a kiddie songs CD - more for Mom and Dad because we don't remember an children's songs and I am tired of Derek playing his stadium anthems CD and singing along!

The ears were brought out again for Derek's family dinner. Wyatt had to taste his Easter card.
On our way to Tipton, we stopped at my friend Andrea's house in Lee's Summit. She has two kids, Avery and Connor. Connor is 6 months older than Wyatt and they played together really well. I was glad to see Avery and Andrea to - we don't do this enough! Thanks for having us.

8 months old!

8 months old going on toddler! Sometimes I can't get over what a little boy Wyatt looks like instead of baby. I think it is the hair.

Any resemblance?

We went bowling in Savannah last weekend and we got to see many of our friends. Here Wyatt is charming Chris and Megan Baumann.
Mommy and Wyatt

Cole and Wyatt - I bought these matching shirts and Allison and I dressed them alike for this picture. Neither were very happy, we hope this changes as they get older. We are banking on them being good buddies!

Wyatt is crawling!

Wyatt finally figured out how to pull his body around - we are calling it crawling for now! His current bait of choice is the television remote.

We bought this magnetic farm set and Wyatt loves to chew on the pieces. It is a good way to occupy him in the kitchen while I try to cook dinner or do dishes.
Here is a little clip of Wyatt dragging himself - he has fantastic upper-body strength! :)

MUD!

MUD, MUD, MUD! The weather has been getting warm enough to allow the topsoil to thaw and become a muddy mess! Underneath the ground has stayed frozen and all the snow melting has no where to go. The 102 River flooded Rosendale again and the Nodaway River was really high earlier this week. Below is a picture of our barns and all the muddy ruts we have been making.
Wyatt is sitting up in the big tub now ans he loves it when I pour a cup of water over his head! He just sputters and smiles and laughs! I can't wait for the summer so I can take him to the pool.
This weekend we had really good weather, until Sunday afternoon when it turned cold and rainy. Early Sunday it was 68 degrees and Wyatt was in his summer wear. He played so hard he fell asleep in this position. You can't see it but his right leg is up toward his head, he is practically doing the splits!
Below are a couple more pics from our 6 month picture session.
