Our first trip to Boston!

Derek, Wyatt and I all took a trip to Boston the first weekend of October.  Derek's sister's family moved there from Australia this July and this was the weekend Derek thought he could get away.  We flew out on Thursday evening so we could have 2 full days in Boston.
The pilots on the first flight let Wyatt sit in the Captain's chair in the cockpit.  They let him wear their hat and he got a candy bar for being a good little passenger.  We thought our experience with Delta was great!

On Friday, Derek and I got to hit Boston by ourselves!  Janae kept Wyatt at the house so he could play with Alyssa and help pick up Emma from school.  Our first stop was the Sam Adams brewery for their tour.  We really enjoyed the tour!

Our favorite part of the tour! (Cream Stout)  My favorite was the Harvest Pumpkin Ale and Derek likes the Octoberfest and Cream Stout.

Wyatt and his cousins are watching a little TV before dinner.  They got along soooo well!

The kids by the frog pond in Boston Commons.  It was a BEAUTIFUL fall day in Boston - we couldn't have had better weather!

Janae and Derek help the kids feed the ducks/geese/swans our leftover breakfast toast.  This is the pond in the Public Gardens that usually have the swan boats, but we had just missed them closing for winter by a couple days.

The kids on the "Make Way for Ducklings" statue.  It was a challenge to get a good picture, the park was crowded and we had to learn to take turns on the statue while the parents took pictures.

Us at Boston Harbor.  We didn't have enough time to take a Harbor cruise, the kids were running our of gas.  But it was nice to watch the boats!

Back at Janae and Adrian's house the kids play outside while I grilled chicken for dinner.  Derek and Adrian decided they wanted to go to the Red Sox vs. Yankee game at 4:30 pm.  They took the train into town and bought tickets on the street, only missing a bit of the first inning.  They found some empty seats pretty close to the field and got to watch a great game go into extra innings!  They missed the train back out to the 'burbs so they had to spend a couple hours at the bar waiting for the next one (I think they had a great time!)

Here is a picture of Derek's sister and her family.  We had a fantastic time and have many more thing we would like to do the next time we visit!  I am thinking a trip to the beach next summer!  See you at Christmas
